Good to know #2

Good to know #2

Finish do often not express, what they are feeling or show it in other kind of actions.
Public expressions are difficult to find, but I learned already, it doesn´t have to be as much as in Germany, because this kind of showing feelings is actually pretty nice. I can´t follow this all the time, but I try to do it, because then it is more private and a bit more special.
You won´t see often people kissing or grabbing each other and it is nothing like I recognised in Germany, it is much better. In Germany I see often people together, who are for maybe one week in a relationship and after one other week they have the next but hear it is more serious and with a higher sense.

If you are coming to a high-school, which is taking students from everywhere, then you will have it a bit easier to find friends I think. This is not like in Germany as well. In Germany I had sometimes the feeling, that I didn´t know who are now my friends and who are just people I know, but here it is clear. Your friends are very close to you and you do a lot with them and you can speak with them about everything. The people you just know will you see only in school or sometimes you will speak with them in the breaks.

Your host-family is very important. I love my one a lot, because I can come with everything to my host-mother and can talk with her. She helps me, I help as often as I am able to in the house (cooking or cleaning or sth. else). They can give you phone numbers from people they know, they integrate you in their families, they show you a lot from the culture and the nation and of course they will help you to learn the language! But they are not doing everything for you. I have my motivations to learn the language, one is the important person, the other for my host-family and one other from the more important motivations: to be able to take part in the courses.

Short: Don´t be shy, they are in general not talking a lot or express their feelings ; If you find friends, then they are real friends ; You need motivation to learn the language and be active in everything and of course a lot in your host-family!!

Exchange-Blog Part3

Exchange-blog Part 3

I said things will change on my blog and Halleluja!!! I had a lot of fun with writing for you and this is the first part Exchange-blog in english !!!

I am very happy here, and I don´t want to go back to Germany, of course here is not everything perfect, but I like it, and I like the people. I have some really good friends who are very nice and I like it to spend time with them. There are some differences and it shows me, that there is much to learn, but this is no matter for me, because I like them a lot. I can trust them. It is not really easy sometimes, not often but sometimes, but I want to adapt myself and I think when I get it, than it will be easier and a lot of things will be easier to understand. But enough personal things. In Good to know you will get some information about differences in the life, which you can´t see in the first days.

I was one weekend in the cottage and we picked a lot of berries and went every day in the sauna and after it we went swimming in the close by lake. From the berries I baked two cakes already and I cooked already, too. I cooked for my host-family an onion-cream-chicken and before this a special kind of champignons. The second meal I cooked for my friends. I cooked it last Saturday and it was Spaghettini with chicken but a bit more difficult than it sounds like. I am nearly every break or
nnñ      n                                                           weekend with this group together and we watch movies or we play games. Everything is such refreshing and nice, but I think I have to thank my host-family and my friends for this, because without them it would be boring and bad. On the one hand I feel sometimes sorry, that I like it a lot here, because I forget often that I am not at home here, but on the other hand I think YEAH this is now a home for me as well. I have a lot of luck with everything here, because I know from some exchangestudents, that they  don´t have it like me, and that they are feeling often home sick , but this are only two or one.

My teacher in school are pretty nice, they are friendly and I learn a lot, because I have the feeling that they want to teach us and they like their job. I don´understand a lot, but I do everything the other students in my class do, because I want to. Sometimes I take active part in the lesson, because I understood, what the exercise is about. In german I learn many new finish words or grammar rules and I can help the other students or make for them a vocabulary-test :D . In my photography-course I am able to make some nice pictures and to edit them. Some examples are the pictures in this post :D. But joo, all in all are my teachers all very good, but I miss a bit the english-lessons from Mister Jordan.

Who is following me on Instagram knows, what I am doing the day long. For example: I had to write a home-essay in history about slavery and economy in Rom. I needed one hour, to read something about economy and round about five hours did I write on the essay, without information from the internet or books --> Thank you Latin-lessons!!! I wrote four pages and the teacher gave me an 8 1/2 ( 2(-) in Germany), but usually I am just doing my homework, meet friends or study finish.

Maybe you recognised, that this parts are more personal and short information, if you want to know something more about Exchangestudentlife or living in Finland or learning the language, than you should check out my other formats!

Never give up without a fight ! And stay strong !

Good to know #1

 Good to know #1

In Finland they have the "Everybody right". It means that you are allowed to pick nearly everywhere berries, mushrooms, etc. , but you are NOT allowed to destroy the nature!

You can eat berries, mushrooms, etc. with out to be scared, because there are no dieseases which you could get from them.

There are three types of "blueberries" in the forest. One are Mustikka, which are really delicious and two others. The black ones doesn´t taste really good, but you ca use them for juice or stuff like this.

The red-berries and mushrooms are more difficult. Many types are poisonous and for people like me, who don´t know really much about the different types it´s dangerous. My advice: Be careful !!

Berry-Picking is used by asian and other people, to earn a bit more money, because you don't have to pay taxes if you are selling them, but to eat them by yourself is better :D they are very delicious. I will write you in an other post one recept about a mustikkapiirakka (blueberrypie).

You can find berries and mushrooms in nearly every forest and there are a lot of them. If you pick one hour berries, than you will have
                                                           enough for more than 5
                                                           pies or whatever you want
to do. In buckets it could be
                                                           one 10l bucket full of
                                                           them after one hour.

If you want to go on a hike, than you don't need, in the right time of the year, any food with you, because you can eat the berries as a snack.

This was this post from Good to know about berries and mushrooms.
I don't know what I will write the next time, maybe Exchangeblog Part3.

Write you

Auslandsblog Part 2

Auslandsblog Part 2

Joa what else?!

Schreib euch

Bye

1- How to ...

1 - How to . . .
. . . die in Finland:

1. Get drunken with a friend and start to discuss with him about poitics, music, or
something else (something unnecessary works as well).
There is a high chance that he will kill you ^^.

2. Go picking berries and go further in the forest to pick the "better" berries, which are
       deeper and deeper in it.
You will loose the way and walk around. If you have luck you will find back, if not than
       you will die.

3. Pick the wrong berries. Exactly, there are many kind of berries. You and  can maybe
don´t see the differences sometimes, but we would recognize them after eating the
berries. Some might be deadly, some might be only not good for us, but I wouldn´t
        want to try it :D

4. Have to many friends. I recognised that I heard from nearly every friend one time the
sentence: "I wanna kill you" or something in this direction :D It is fearsome, but they
don´t mean t, like it sounds. If somebody is saying it to you, than you can be usually
sure, that the other person is your friend. (But be careful and look again through point 1)
It is funny, maybe it will one time happen :´D (sarcasm)

5. Go Ice-Fishing. If you go Ice-Fishing and if you are not careful enough you will break
into the water and usually die. (logical?) My advice: Let somebody else doing everything
and be the last person in the dangerous area :´D

6. Cycle by bike and don´t wear a helmet, because some car driver are like: I have the most
rights... and that is a lot of times true. They have only to stop for us, if there is a sign,
which is saying them that... This is really dangerous and I stop every time, because I
can´t be sure, that the car driver is stopping. (And I am not wearing a helmet)

7. Be depressive in the wintertime. It will be very dark and cold and everything (brrrhhh).
The advice, which I got, was to have indoor-hobbies, a bus ticket and good friends.
Or somebody to snuggle <3 :* . Otherwise I think it wil be difficult, to get not depressed.

8. Dry out in the sauna. Yes u can die, if you are to long in the sauna. So be careful and
have always enough water with u and take your breaks ;)

I will write more like this How to . . . , because I could be funny and I have a lot of fun to write something like this :´D . But don´t take it to serious, it´s more sarcasm, self -irony from the finish people I met until now.If you didn´t recognise it now, this format will be in english, like some other stories I will write. Why? Because the translator from german to english sucks and from english to german not as much as the other direction. The other point is, that I have to write my exams the first time in english. (Practicing english). I hope you like this staff, if not, than you don´t haVe to read it, because I will write it ;) .
You will read more next week. Have fun :D
