Good to know #2
Finish do often not express, what they are feeling or show it in other kind of actions.
Public expressions are difficult to find, but I learned already, it doesn´t have to be as much as in Germany, because this kind of showing feelings is actually pretty nice. I can´t follow this all the time, but I try to do it, because then it is more private and a bit more special.
You won´t see often people kissing or grabbing each other and it is nothing like I recognised in Germany, it is much better. In Germany I see often people together, who are for maybe one week in a relationship and after one other week they have the next but hear it is more serious and with a higher sense.
If you are coming to a high-school, which is taking students from everywhere, then you will have it a bit easier to find friends I think. This is not like in Germany as well. In Germany I had sometimes the feeling, that I didn´t know who are now my friends and who are just people I know, but here it is clear. Your friends are very close to you and you do a lot with them and you can speak with them about everything. The people you just know will you see only in school or sometimes you will speak with them in the breaks.
Your host-family is very important. I love my one a lot, because I can come with everything to my host-mother and can talk with her. She helps me, I help as often as I am able to in the house (cooking or cleaning or sth. else). They can give you phone numbers from people they know, they integrate you in their families, they show you a lot from the culture and the nation and of course they will help you to learn the language! But they are not doing everything for you. I have my motivations to learn the language, one is the important person, the other for my host-family and one other from the more important motivations: to be able to take part in the courses.
Short: Don´t be shy, they are in general not talking a lot or express their feelings ; If you find friends, then they are real friends ; You need motivation to learn the language and be active in everything and of course a lot in your host-family!!
Never give up without a fight! Stay strong!
